At Dirt Works, safety isn't just a priority — it's our promise to deliver exceptional results while ensuring every team member goes home safe.

Every decision we make on the job site, from how we stage equipment to how we communicate between crews, is made with safety first. We meet or exceed all local, state, and federal safety regulations and take a proactive approach that reduces incidents, delays, and disruptions on every project.

CREDENTIALS

Dirt Works holds an ISN "A" rating and a Class A Contractors License (#1032060). All of our foremen hold OSHA 30 certifications and all crew members hold OSHA 10 certifications. Our written safety programs and prevention plans are fully Cal/OSHA compliant, ensuring we meet or exceed all regulatory requirements on every job site.

DAILY PRACTICES

Safety starts before the first piece of equipment is started. Every shift begins with a tailboard meeting where crews review the day's work, identify hazards, and confirm roles and responsibilities. Equipment inspections are performed daily and risk assessments are completed before any work begins. Our crews use advanced communication headsets to maintain seamless coordination between operators and ground crews in the field, keeping everyone informed and aware at all times.

TRAINING PROGRAM

Every operator, groundsman, and Class A driver at Dirt Works goes through a comprehensive training program covering work procedures, equipment operation, and safety protocols. Training is tailored to specific job site conditions — whether that's steep terrain, limited access areas, or environmentally sensitive projects. To build mastery and consistency, we standardize our equipment brands so crew members become experts in the tools they use every day. Our team receives annual training on 16 written worksite-specific prevention plans, updated yearly to reflect current Cal/OSHA regulations and the specific hazards of our job sites — ensuring every crew member is fully prepared before they ever set foot on a project.

At Dirt Works, every team member goes home safe. Our proactive safety culture protects our crews, our clients, and the communities where we work — because when everyone goes home safe, everyone wins.
